H2O Pro Pavers®
Storm water management with permeable paving units
H2O Pro Pavers® are the ideal storm water management product for reducing surface runoff and flooding, while maintaining a structural pavement for vehicle and foot traffic. As growing metropolitan communities demand more parking areas, roads and driveways, there is a reduced capacity for natural, sustainable infiltration. H2O Pro Pavers offer a cost-effective and low impact system to better manage environmental and economic impacts from storm water runoff and sediment while replenishing groundwater.
H2O Pro Pavers allow rain to infiltrate through the full perimeter joints of each paver into specially designed sub-base materials. Rainwater is naturally filtrated through the base materials before recharging the groundwater.
Highlights:
- Alternative storm water management system for residential, municipal and commercial applications
- Eliminates surface puddles and local flooding
- Can be used to release storm water in a controlled method into retention or nonpotable irrigation systems
- Load-bearing capabilities
- Complies with freeze/thaw durability tests
- Reduces or eliminates conventional retention and detention ponds
- Significantly reduces pollutants and improves water quality
- Relieves sewer system flooding
- Conserves land for more green space or building opportunities
Sustainable Design Performance
H2O Pro Pavers can contribute towards a project's eligible LEED points for Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency and Materials & Resources. Units effectively manage storm water, and they are available in colors that minimize urban heat island effects.
H2O Pro Pavers also meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) storm water performance criteria, and are designed to meet local, state and national storm water regulations.
The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) provides additional information, including Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavement Fact Sheets, available on their website for design professionals, municipal officials, residential and commercial developers, and schools and universities.
ICPI also offers Specifications for Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavements that can be downloaded from their website.
